In a world where audiences are hungry for authentic narratives, look no further than Tanya Ryan. Charming and often disarming, Tanya speaks to our inner romantic and yet still finds the voice for bold empowerment. She effortlessly paints a life canvas with her words, blending clever lyrics with captivating sound.
Tanya has been writing and performing professionally since 2012; since then she’s played on numerous esteemed stages including the Nashville North Stage, and the Coke Stage at the Calgary Stampede, as well as one of Canada’s largest festival Main Stage’s: Big Valley Jamboree. In 2017, she was a top 3 finalist in Alberta’s Project Wild taking home a $50, 000 grand prize, and in 2014 she was chosen as one of six across Canada for the Canadian Country Music Association’s Project Discovery Program.
For the last five years Tanya has been an active advocate and ambassador for The Rowan House Society – an organization committed to provide crisis intervention, long-term support, and education to those affected by family violence. Through various events and campaigns she’s raised over $30,000 for the organization and continues to volunteer regularly in effort to continue to create awareness and meaningful impact in the community.
Always hungry for opportunity, growth, and new experiences, Tanya has more recently been pursuing the craft of writing with a diligent perseverance. Now a published columnist and blogger, she unearths her candid and uncensored exploration of everyday life, spirituality, and mental health with a refreshing and humorous dialogue.
She can be frequently found occupying a yoga mat, shuffling a deck of tarot cards, re-reading the Harry Potter series, or creating an adventure by hiking in the Alberta Rockies. Her playful and comical husband is never far from her side, and soon soon they’ll be a party of three with their first baby on the way in April 2020.
Her latest album is now available in all online stores and streaming services. It’s looking like an adventure-filled start to a decade for this boho-clad amazon.
